Born in 1984, M. Hine has been passionately pursuing art from a young age, ever since she discovered red and blue make purple. Equating art with magic, she became eager to learn various mediums and techniques. She started out with watercolor, and later experimented with photography, printmaking, ceramics, oil painting, illustration. In 2006 she graduated with a BFA in Graphic Design from Arcadia University. She spent three years at a publishing company as a designer and illustrator. In the summer of 2012, she received her MFA in Studio Art at Moore College of Art & Design. In 2015, she moved to the Boston area to study Art Therapy at Lesley University, earning a MA in Mental Health Counseling. She returned to Philadelphia in 2019 and currently works in community behavioral health as an Art Therapist.
